Essential Plugins I Reactivated on My Portfolio

When I rebuilt my portfolio site, I had to make choices about which plugins were essential. These are the ones I reactivated and why:

  • Google Analytics – Helps me understand who is visiting my portfolio and which pages get the most attention.
  • Accessibility by UserWay – Ensures that all users, including those with disabilities, can navigate my site. This was very important to me.
  • WP Consent – Helps with privacy and compliance for cookies and user data.
  • WP Forms Lite – Allows visitors to easily contact me.
  • WP Activity Log – Tracks any changes or activity in the backend, which helps with troubleshooting.
  • Updraft Plus (with Dropbox) – My backup solution in case something goes wrong.
  • Otter Blocks – Adds custom block options for the block editor.
  • Jetpack – Improves performance, adds site security, and monitors downtime.
  • Simple Social Buttons – Lets visitors share my work on social media easily.
  • Carousel Slider Block & Photo Gallery – Great for showing off my photography.
  • Essentials for IONOS – Provided by my hosting for smoother integration.

Each of these plugins adds value either by making my site more usable for visitors or by making my life easier as the site owner.
